Our Preschool classroom is designed to accommodate preschool aged children from 3-4 years of age. The designated adult/child ratio in New York for preschool students is 7:1.
We continue to provide all diapers and wipes until students are full potty trained. We also provide breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. We ask that our families provide the following:
Each week our preschool teachers plan activities based on a weekly theme or topic. Our lesson plans are assessment based and our teachers follow NY Early Learning Standards. Each day your preschooler will participate in an art project or tactile activity, a gross motor exercise (indoor or outdoor), songs/finger plays, and theme-related books.
Our teachers make regular observations to track developmental progress. Several times a year we will do a formal evaluation of your child's progress here at school. You will be given the opportunity to schedule a parent/teacher conference twice a year; once in the fall and once in the spring. You will be able to review the evaluation and discuss your child's academic/developmental progress with the teachers and caregivers. Please remember that all children develop at their own pace, and the purpose of our evaluations is to help us plan and individualize your child's education.
